WhatsApp Updates: New Features for iOS and Android Users in 2025
What's New in WhatsApp's Latest Beta Versions
Are you a WhatsApp user who loves trying out new features? Good news! WhatsApp has recently rolled out some exciting updates for both iOS and Android devices. These new WhatsApp features aim to make your messaging experience even better and more convenient.
In-App Web Browsing Comes to iOS
iPhone users have something special to look forward to in the latest WhatsApp beta version 25.14.10.72. Now, you can browse certain websites directly within WhatsApp without needing to switch to Safari or another browser!
How the New In-App Browsing Works:
- When you tap on specific business website links in WhatsApp, they'll open right inside the app
- This feature only works for business websites that:
- Use the secure HTTPS protocol
- Meet WhatsApp's special criteria for businesses
Don't worry if you prefer your regular browser – WhatsApp gives you a choice! You can still open links in your default browser by tapping the three-dot menu and selecting that option.
Note for iOS Users: This WhatsApp feature was already available for Android users and is now making its way to iPhones.
New Emoji for Android Users
Android users aren't left out in these WhatsApp updates! If you're using the beta version 2.25.15.6, you'll notice eight brand new emoji from the Unicode 16.0 standard have been added to your WhatsApp keyboard.
The New Emoji Collection Includes:
- A tired face 😮💨
- A fingerprint 👆
- A bare tree 🌳
- A root vegetable 🥕
- A harp 🎼
- A spade ♠️
- A stain 🟤
- The flag of Sark 🇬🇬
While these emoji could previously be viewed if someone sent them from an iPhone or through third-party keyboards with Unicode 16.0 support, this marks the first time they're built directly into WhatsApp's default keyboard for Android devices.
When Will Everyone Get These WhatsApp Features?
Currently, both the in-app browsing for iOS and the new emoji for Android are limited to beta testers. However, WhatsApp plans to roll out these features to all users through the stable channel in the coming weeks.
Why These WhatsApp Updates Matter
These updates reflect WhatsApp's ongoing commitment to improving user experience. The in-app browsing feature helps maintain the flow of your conversations without interruptions, while the new emoji give you more ways to express yourself in chats.
What's Next for WhatsApp?
WhatsApp continues to refine and enrich its platform with regular updates. By consistently introducing new features in beta versions, they're able to test and perfect functionality before wider releases.
As a WhatsApp user, you can look forward to a messaging app that keeps evolving to meet your needs. Whether you're chatting with friends, family, or businesses, these updates aim to make your experience smoother and more enjoyable.
Stay tuned for more WhatsApp features coming your way soon!
